Diary of an Aspiring Ex-Pat
These are all the ways I communicate:

Ranked in perceived order of frequency of use…

  1. Mobile Phone (text)
  2. Facebook (messages)
  3. Skype (primarily with parents & sister in US)
  4. gchat (primarily with friends in US when we’re stuck at work)
  5. Twitter
  6. Email (usually for more official communication, or for my parents)
  7. Mobile Phone (call) (really only the boyfriend, and voicemail upsets me deeply)
  8. Facebook (wall posts)
  9. Skype (chat)

These are the things I think about to distract myself from my impending lunch. Utterly thrilling!

I think my sister needs this for Christmas. Thank you, John Lewis.

Hey, I have a Tumblr!

Maybe I’ll use it again.

rejection!

It’s good to not get things you don’t want.  Sometimes, you are in an audition situation and you think to yourself, these cats are crazy, and not in the good Beat sort of way, and I probably don’t want to be involved with any project they are within 20 yards of.

But at the same time, you don’t want THEM to reject YOU.  YOU want to be able to be the one that puts the kebash on this endeavor, the party that declines to be associated with their project of questionable vision and clarity.  And so when THEY are the ones to tell you thanks but no thanks, the 13-year-old inside screams YOU DIDN’T DUMP ME, I DUMPED YOU FIRST!

At least, that’s what I tend to experience.
